Privacy
What we collect and what we do not. Short version: no accounts, no tracking cookies, no advertising, and no raw IP addresses stored. Last updated 13 July 2026.
Overview
Tech.eu Funding Explorer is a public database of European tech funding, published by Tech.eu. Browsing it requires no account and no sign-in. We collect as little as possible, set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and store no raw IP addresses. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers or data brokers; a small number of trusted providers process data on our behalf under contract. This is a factual description of our practices, not legal advice.
Analytics
We measure aggregate usage — page views, referrers and approximate country — using privacy-preserving analytics configured to be cookieless and IP-anonymised. It sets no tracking cookies and builds no advertising profile, which is why the site shows no cookie-consent banner. We use these counts only to understand what is useful and to keep the service healthy.
API & MCP
The public API (/api/v1) and MCP server (/api/mcp) are keyless — no signup and no personal data are required to use them. We keep basic request logs to run the service and to enforce fair-use limits and prevent abuse; we do not store raw IP addresses and do not use these logs to identify you.
The funding dataset
The database records business and publicly-reported funding information: companies, funding rounds, investors, and the names of founders in their public professional capacity. We process this on the basis of legitimate interest under the GDPR (Article 6(1)(f)) — providing a transparent, sourced reference for the European tech ecosystem. We do not publish founder contact details; founder gender, where shown, is confidence-gated and never asserted as fact. If you believe information about you is inaccurate and would like it corrected or removed, contact Tech.eu.
The dataset is offered for reuse under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (attribute “Tech.eu Funding Explorer”).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, or object to our processing of personal data about you. To exercise any of these, or for any privacy question, contact Tech.eu. We may update this page as the service evolves; the date at the top reflects the latest change.
